Spaces of encounter, Sew to mend or Sewing as a lifestyle proposes a reflection about his(stories) of textility, approaching textiles and textile-like qualities in a broader sense: how they are made, from what, what they represent, their many uses in daily life, and their cultural significance. 

The work is composed by both analog and digital entities. 

The fabrics, from fibers such as cotton, silk, linen blend and polyester, are sourced from leftover and discarded textiles, either from shared textile workshop scraps boxes or from second-hand shops that sell pieces of cloth. These scraps, manipulated with sewing, assembling, and collage techniques, hold screens in their pockets. 

The digital devices, in turn, play images of the same techniques and processes used to create and transform the textiles, in a self-referring way.. 

Throughout the videos, recorded in a static camera position, we can observe hands that sew fabrics, through touch, knowledge of the techniques and experimentation. 

The depiction of the sewing actions is made with the intent to showcase the way how to execute a specific task in fixing a sock or seing two pieces of fabric together by hand-sewing (relating to the DIY culture and youtube videos), where gestures share, hold, and fail, suggesting both the possibility of repair and the non-sense of trying to mend something that is broken for good.
