Observing the process allows us to ask: Where does the colors we use in the many materials that sorround us come from?
Waiting for a color to appear is a process that reveals itself before us in slow time. The action of heat and the action of the sun play an important role, together with the element of water, creating the environment for the dissolution of the dyeing matter present in the
plants sown, harvested and used in the process: Lírio-dos-tintureiros, (Reseda luteola), Margarida (Calendula officinalis), Margaridinha-escura (Coreopsis tinctoria) and Ruiva-dos-tintureiros (Rubia tinctorum).
The project explored collaborative and participatory practices with the group of the program, as well as with the public audience, where I facilitated two workshop moments about dyeing natural fibers - wool and cotton thread and cotton paper. This project was developed in dialogue with the artist Uriel Orlow, within the scope of the workshop “Assembleia das Plantas” at GMP, part of ping!.
